Your sample code does not work. NullReferenceException on Frame rootFrame = Window.Current.Content as Frame in app.xaml.cs. A window is never instantiated, took me a short time to figure out your code but for beginners this is not good. You really need to review your docs as difficult as they are to understand at the best of times. Step by step examples that actually work would be a start..
