Connecting private repo unsuccessful

Hi, I followed your process for connecting a private repo to argocd and allowing it manage the deployment process. I created the repo secrets and attached the PAT credentials inside it. However, it still shows authentication errors even though it shows  that the repository was successfully connected under settings within the argoCD  UI. What's your advice? Thanks
