Vendor plugin is not compatible with AGP 8.0 #4131

Open
@AmrAfifiy

Description

@AmrAfifiy

Starting AGP 8.0, the deprecated transform API will be deleted and plugins should move away from using it. Currently, the vendor plugin registers a transform.

If this plugin is intended for public use we should work on a replacement as soon as possible.

I found a few problems with this issue:

  • I couldn't figure out how to label this issue, so I've labeled it for a human to triage. Hang tight.
  • This issue does not seem to follow the issue template. Make sure you provide all the required information.

Hi @AmrAfifiy. I've consulted with an engineer, and it seems that the plugin is not intended for public use. However, this is something we have to migrate sooner or later. That said, let's keep this issue open for tracking.

Thanks for reporting, and looking into it!

Just bumping this thread, it seems that the fix for #4424 was reverted since it is causing issues for #4622, b/268091395 for tracking.
