Page Builder Banner Element - "Upload new image" not working

On Magento 2.4.7, when adding or editing a banner element, trying to click the "Upload new image" button has no effect. Only workaround is to click the cog and upload from there.

This has already been raised on the Magento GitHub, details here:

I'm not sure why this hasn't been raised here yet. 2.4.7 has been out for a while.

We attempted to reproduce the issue in our latest version 2.4 develop and latest release version but were unable to reproduce it. Please find the attached screenshot for reference.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Login to Admin
2. Navigate to Content -> Page
3. Click on Add New Page or Edit the Existing page
4. Drag and drop the Row and Drag and drop the banner
5. Mouse hover over the setting icon and click Upload Image

We followed these steps and did not encounter any issues. Could you please recheck in the latest version of Magento and let us know if we are missing any steps to reproduce this issue?

I've been able to trigger the issue reported on several installations of Magento 2.4.7-p5, that in theory is the most recent release for 2.4.7. There is no mention of this being fixed in the release notes of 2.4.8, so I'm not sure if it's already been resolved for a future release or it has not been mentioned there. If that's the case, since using the cog there is an alternative way of uploading an image, it's liveable with and we can wait until we jump to 2.4.8
