Should mic and camera services be disabled when the computer goes to sleep?

We've noticed that projects with extensions that use the camera and microphone can continue to run even after the OS goes to sleep.

For example, projects that play a sound in response to a speech recognition or vision hat will play that sound when the mac laptop is open and the OS has goes to sleep so the screen is black.
