Tests are failing due to incompatibility of code with current versions of python, numpy, and PyPI (among other small bugs). We should resolve these issues first. See pull request: |

It's been over 5 years since the ICED submodule was labeled as deprecated (see d4bc7f5)
Removing this submodule would also make the installation process simpler.
